Rubex - Reports - Create a Data Source Follow
Create a Data Source
To build dashboards and reports, there must be a data source created to reference and pull data from.
Create
Select Data Source > Create New
Note that users will only be able to build dashboards and reports based on the location permissions (Cabinet, Drawer, Folder and File data) that they have been given access to in Rubex. Therefore, it is necessary for each user to specify the source of the data that they want to work with in Rubex Reports.
Name the Data Source
Add a Name and Description to your data sources to make it easy to identify the correct data source you want to work with later.
Depending on your objectives, it can be helpful to create a more specific data source, thus focusing and only bringing in the necessary data for a given dashboard or report. The Containers tab enables selecting a specific location(Cabinet, Drawer, Folder) for a data source. A more narrow or specific data source will enable you to build more focused dashboards and reports without having to work around additional data.
By clicking on the Filters button, you can add a filter to the data if desired, although in many cases this may not be necessary as you will be able to specify and filter when building your dashboard or report.
