EFC Online – Permissions (View, Edit, Delete, Administer): What do they indicate? Follow
Permissions that are applied to a user for a cabinet, drawer, folder, etc. in the Online version of eFileCabinet are displayed as View, Edit, Delete, and Administer). Each permission serves a different purpose for a cabinet/drawer/folder/document. Below is a list of each permission and what it provides for a user:
View: A user will have permissions to view the structure of the cabinet and its structure within, will be able to preview a document within the cabinet, but will not be able to check out the document or make any alterations to it or any cabinet/drawer/folder.
Edit: A user will have permissions to edit cabinet/drawer/folder/document content and save any changes made.
Delete: A user will have permissions to delete or purge a cabinet/drawer/folder/document from eFileCabinet Online.
Administer: A user will have permissions to perform administrative actions on the cabinet/drawer/folder/document.
NOTE: Some permissions require other permissions to be selected in order for the permissions to function properly (For example, the Edit permission requires the View permission, the Delete permission requires both the Edit and View permissions, and the Administer permissions requires all of the above permissions to be displayed.)
