EFC Desktop – Edit Existing User Permissions Follow
If an administrative user wishes to give an existing user permission to a cabinet/drawer/folder in eFileCabinet Desktop, they will need to perform the following steps:
1. Right click on the cabinet you wish to edit permissions within, and select "Edit Cabinet".
2. Under the "Security" tab, add any users listed in under "Available Users" that you wish to give permissions to the "Users Associated" list. To do so, either double click on the user itself or click the user once, then select the left arrow button between the two lists.
3. Once a user is added to the "Users Associated" list, double click on the user to specify which permissions you wish to give them for this cabinet. Once the appropriate permissions have been applied, select "OK", then "Save" in the following dialog box.
Once this action has been performed, you can then specify which drawers in that cabinet you wish for that user to have access to. If you leave all drawers and folders with "Default Permissions" under "Security" in the details view on the right (which pulls up once you click on a drawer or folder), then the users you have added to the "Users Associated" list will have whichever permissions you applied to them for the cabinet, to all of the drawers and cabinets within.
If you wish to specify which users of the "Users associated' has access to a particular drawer or folder, then under "Security" in the details view to the right, select the edit permissions icon to the right (looks like a blue character with a pencil). You can then remove default permissions and specify which users have access to the drawer or folder. Once you've done so, select "OK" to apply the permissions.
