EFC Desktop – How do I resolve "error 1053" when manually restarting the server services (or any other service)? Follow
If, when attempting to manually restart the server services or any other eFileCabinet server, you receive the "Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion", perform the following steps:
1. Go to Start > Run > and type 'regedit' (if using newer versions of Windows, select the start button and search in the search field).
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
3. With the control folder selected, right-click in the pane on the right and select New - DWORD Value.
4. Name the new DWORD: ServicesPipeTimeout, then right-click it and select Modify.
5. Click Demical, type 180000 and then click OK.
Following this, restart your computer. This should resolve the issue.
