EFC Desktop – Unexpected Error: See debug logs. Error contains "Padding is Invalid" Follow
Although it is not always the case, this error is generally caused when the eFileCabinet Client does not update correctly.
To fix this error:
1. Close the eFileCabinet client
2. Go to C:\ProgramData\eFileCabinet\5 and rename the "client_settings.edb" file to "client_settings.edb.old"
3. RE-open the eFileCabinet client and log in again.
After the client updates, the issue should be resolved.
Note: ProgramData is a hidden folder by default. To un-hide the folder follow the steps based on your operating system:
-Windows 10: Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>File Explorer Options>View. Select the radio button next to "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".
-Windows 7 & 8: Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Folder Options>View. Select the radio button next to "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".
