To apply permissions to cabinet/drawer/folder/file, perform the following steps.
1. Right click on the item and select Manage, then Permissions.
Alternatively, select the item, then select permissions on the far right.
2. Select Add Permission.
3. Select the user(s) and/or group(s) in the list that you need to apply permissions for.
4. Check their permissions (make sure to check "push down permissions" if you wish for the permissions to be applied on all the items contained in the selected directory). then select Save.
Those permissions will be applied and the data will then be accessible to whichever user you provided access to. Should you need to edit their permissions at any time, return to the Permissions section, and instead of clicking "add permission", choose "Edit Permissions" in the upper righthand corner.
